Kuang delved into the topic of Asian American representation in literature, exploring its evolution, impact, and the challenges it presents to writers today. For the\u00a0second year in a row, CC has won a\u00a0Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award\u00a0<\/strong>from\u00a0INSIGHT Into Diversity<\/em>\u00a0magazine. The award is given to higher ed institutions that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and comes after years of hard work put forth through an institutional commitment to antiracism and a focus on social mobility and access.\u00a0CC\u2019s two-time winning of this award is in large part thanks to the efforts of its new Chief Diversity Officer, Rosalie Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

In April, Dr. Corina McKendry was selected as a Fulbright Scholar for 2024-25. In January, she\u2019ll head to Costa Rica for six months to study local governments\u2019 climate actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cCosta Rica is well known for its commitment to addressing climate change and for being a leader in conservation,\u201d says McKendry. \u201cIn many ways, this tiny country sets the global standard for what\u2019s possible. But I\u2019m interested in what these efforts look like at the municipal level.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FAC recently welcomed its newest exhibition to campus.\u00a0ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM<\/em>\u00a0is an evolving multidisciplinary exhibition and archive created by\u00a0MIPSTERZ, a non-traditional arts and culture collective for emerging Muslim, Muslim-adjacent, and allied creatives. The exhibition features a variety of work from paintings, photography, illustrations, and sculptures to installations, digital media, soundscapes, film, virtual reality, and interactive experiences.<\/p>\n

ALHAMDU<\/em>\u2019s presence on campus is an event three years in the making, requiring the efforts of countless people at the FAC, CC, and in the Colorado Springs community. It now takes up the entirety of the FAC\u2019s second floor and is the largest temporary exhibition to ever show in the museum.<\/p>\n
