Each year, the President\u2019s Leadership Awards present four Heartwood Trophies to honor staff and faculty who embody leadership, service, innovation, courage, collaboration, community building, and diversity and inclusion. These trophies are made from reclaimed cross-sections of the trees taken down in the construction of Tutt Library and honor our people and our sense of place. Names of the award recipients are engraved alongside the growth rings and recipients receive possession of a Heartwood Trophy for one year. This past year, the trophies have resided in Palmer Hall, Armstrong Hall, the Van Briggle building, and Worner.<\/p>\n

Apart from the initial recognition and fortune that comes from being named a recipient, rumors of luck and fortuity also surround the trophies. Recipients of years past reported the trophies increased office visitors, evoked pleasant memories, and made office plants grow more than usual.\u00a0There has even been a report that one past honoree was never without a pen the year they had the trophy. So please, help cultivate this luck and nominate a colleague today!<\/p>\n

As part of our strategic initiative to foster workplace excellence, it\u2019s important to recognize those who are making a difference. Visit\u00a0President\u2019s Leadership Award – Colorado College<\/a>\u00a0to learn more about the awards program, the nomination criteria, and to submit a nomination.
