\u00a0<\/em>The CC Consulting Club has thrown around the idea for a case competition for several years, but it wasn\u2019t until now that it became a reality. Last spring, Consulting Club Co-leaders Sasha Akinchina \u201925 and Emmet Shuman \u201926 attended a career networking event in Boulder, where they were introduced to the president of the Leeds Consulting Group \u2013 the consulting student organization at the University of Colorado Boulder \u2013 and pitched the idea of a case competition to him. Akinchina and Shuman spent the next seven months collaborating with him and the Daniels Consulting Group \u2013 Denver University\u2019s consulting group \u2013 to structure the case competition.<\/p>\n

The result was the first-ever Rocky Mountain Case Competition, which was hosted on the CU Boulder campus on Nov. 8, 2024, with teams from CC, CU Boulder, and Denver University participating. CC team members Will Peterson \u201927, Justin Boder \u201927, Nico Davis \u201927, Dana Mulco \u201927, Alexandra McCarthy \u201926, Claire Babcock \u201927, and Dominik Kaminski \u201927 traveled to Boulder for the competition. Their 15-minute presentation was followed by a Q&A session from judges.<\/p>\n

From hearing the sitar live for the first time in Packard Hall as first year student, to performing with the instrument in Packard Hall just four years later, J.J. Gregg \u201902 credits his dream career to his time at CC, where he was inspired, mentored, and supported in his passion for South Asia and its classical stringed instrument.<\/p>\n

Gregg grew up taking piano lessons, performing in a choir, and playing the French horn. As a middle schooler, he listened to The Beatles albums\u00a0Revolver<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Sgt. Pepper\u2019s<\/em>, which gave him some familiarity with the sound of a sitar. But it wasn\u2019t until his first month at CC when he really became inspired.<\/p>\n

According to the latest rankings on Open Door Report on International Education Exchange<\/a>, CC ranks 7th for number of students who studied abroad during the 2022-23 academic year.<\/p>\n

In 2022-2023, the number of U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit surged by 49%, climbing to 280,716. This marked a significant recovery from the decline seen in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic. Approximately 9% of all undergraduates who earned an associate or bachelor’s degree that year participated in study abroad programs.<\/p>\n

During the 2023-2024 academic year, the number of international students in the U.S. rose by 7%, reaching a record high of 1,126,690. These students made up 5.9% of the total higher education population in the country, according to the report.<\/p>\n

The CC Women’s Basketball team have debuted in the D3Hoops.com and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association national polls for the first time in program history. The Tigers (10-1) are off to their best start since the 1976 season and are ranked for the first time in program history as No. 24 in the WBCA poll and No. 25 in the D3Hoops.com poll.<\/p>\n

The first WBCA poll was released in 1996, and the Tigers now make their first-ever appearance, tied for 24th with Bates University, with 24 points.<\/p>\n
