Join CC and Grace and St. Stephen\u2019s Episcopal Church for the annual Robert D. McJimsey Memorial Seminar, two days of conversation at the intersection of history and religious life. This year\u2019s featured speaker, Deacon Samuel Pillsbury, Professor Emeritus of Law at Loyola University, will explore \u201cThe Marshall Plan: Caring for the Stranger and American Leadership.\u201d Through two engaging sessions, Pillsbury invites participants to consider how the moral and historical lessons of the twentieth century shed light on America\u2019s role in the world today. <\/p>\n

The first discussion will take place Thursday, Nov. 6, at 4 p.m.<\/strong> in the nave at Grace and St. Stephen\u2019s Episcopal Church (601 N. Tejon St.), followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. The second session, a more informal dialogue, will be held Friday, Nov. 7 at noon<\/strong> in the Timothy Fuller Event Space in Tutt Library.<\/p>\n

A longtime professor of criminal law and American legal history at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, Pillsbury has written extensively on justice and ethics. Ordained an Episcopal deacon in 2006, he has devoted his ministry to serving the incarcerated in California, New York, and Colorado and now serves as Associate Chaplain at Centennial Correctional Facility in Ca\u00f1on City.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
