Spend Half-Block 2026 diving into the air you breathe! GS222 Breathe Easy: The Environmental Health and Science of Indoor Air<\/strong>, co-taught by Andrea Bruder and CC alum Jim Rosenthal \u201970, explores how indoor air quality (IAQ) affects your health, cognition, and, in turn, is impacted by climate change. The average person spends 90% of their time indoors and inhales more than 2,000 gallons of air each day\u2014along with pollutants, smoke, viruses, and more.<\/p>\n

Through hands-on projects, guest speakers, and field trips, you\u2019ll learn how to measure and improve air quality in campus spaces and beyond. You will learn how to build your own air cleaner (and breathe easier if you have allergies) and visit an Indoor Air Quality research lab at CU Boulder. You may even choose to present your project at an undergraduate research conference in the spring (optional)! No prerequisites and open to all students. The Colorado College men’s basketball team took on the University of Northern Colorado in an exhibition matchup in Greeley on Monday night. The Tigers were led by senior Asher Nofziger’s<\/em> 14 points but fell 91-57. <\/p>\n

“I was really proud of our effort tonight,” head coach Jeff Conarroe said. “Northern Colorado has been practicing since early summer, and we are only a couple of weeks in. I thought we were toe-to-toe until we ran out of gas. That said, we have a lot of work ahead of us. We had too many lulls, didn’t play hard for 40 minutes and also didn’t rebound the ball to our standards.”<\/p>\n

A recent graduate who majored in Southwest Studies and minored in Environmental Studies has put their degree to use by producing a six-part podcast, Lifeblood: Glen Canyon, Lake Powell, and the Future of the Colorado River<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As part of their Senior Capstone Project, Evelyn Baher-Murphy \u201925 (they\/them) spent over two months traveling around the Colorado River Basin to learn about the river and the people it impacts. They interviewed stakeholders about the past, present, and what they say is the uncertain future of the Colorado River, a resource on which 40 million people depend. As part of their field research, they spent a week on the water with Lake Powell boaters, as well as several weeks rafting through the Grand Canyon. <\/p>\n
