Intellectual Property Update<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

We have received initial comments and are continuing to discuss with the College’s IP counsel. The IP Policy has been removed from the formal 30-day comment period so that discussion can continue over the next few blocks, with more time for dedicated meetings, educational resources, and further work with counsel. The link to the IP Policy document remains on the Shared Governance SharePoint site<\/a> for access. Please watch for further communication about opportunities to focus on the IP Policy. Comments can continue to be sent to operationalgovernance@coloradocollege.edu<\/a><\/a>, Emily Chan, and Lori Seager. <\/p>\n

Institutional Review <\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

Colorado College has launched an Institutional Review<\/a> to gain a clear, data-informed understanding of how resources are allocated across all areas of the College. This work was introduced in the email sent on Nov. 18 and will include external analysis, broad engagement, and continued updates as the process unfolds. Digital Transformation Operational Group (DTOG)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

IT Governance and ERP Optimization & Modernization subgroups will have their kickoff meeting Dec. 4. These two groups will start convening to begin understanding what processes will look like as they move forward.<\/p>\n

Campus Events Operational Group (CEOG)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As we continue refining the One CC Experience<\/em> and strengthening alignment across campus, we\u2019ve introduced clear event categories within Momentus to support more consistent planning, communication, and reporting. These updated descriptions help ensure that every program is accurately classified and supported according to its purpose, audience, and operational needs. By standardizing how we define and describe events, we\u2019re building a shared language that makes it easier for departments and partners to collaborate, plan ahead, and deliver memorable experiences that reflect CC\u2019s values. <\/p>\n

These definitions now appear directly in the event creation workflow, guiding planners as they select the category that best matches their program. Whether you\u2019re coordinating a large institutional gathering, scheduling a governance meeting, hosting a student-led event, or welcoming external guests to campus, the category you choose determines the level of support, visibility, and process your event will follow. Incorporating these descriptions into the system also helps us improve scheduling clarity, reduce conflicts, and ensure that major events\u2014such as endowed lectures or signature institutional programs\u2014are appropriately prioritized. <\/p>\n

By integrating this framework into our events management software, we\u2019re laying the groundwork for a more seamless, cohesive, and intentional event experience across the College.<\/p>\n

Incident Management Team (IMT)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

An after-action report of the functional exercise on Sept. 30 identified the need for five subcommittees. The five subcommittees are: Food Service, External and Internal Communication, Counseling Committee, Central Plant, and Internal Incident Communications. Each subcommittee is working on gathering current response capabilities and ensuring that the college can remain self-supporting for seventy-two hours in the event of an emergency incident which impacts not only CC but also the local community. The subcommittees will create resource lists and operating procedures to be utilized if an emergency occurs. Reports from the subcommittees are due during Block 7. <\/p>\n

The Internal Incident Communication Subcommittee is setting up methods to manage communications for the IMT as well as practices for reunification and accountability during an incident.<\/p>\n

Institutional Diversity Equity and Accessibility Leadership (IDEAL)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The International People and Practices subcommittee continues to stay abreast of changes in the international landscape. Last week, the Supreme Court voted to allow President Trump to proceed with his plan to require that passport applicants list their sex as what was designated on their birth certificate. The court’s decision overturns a lower court order pausing Trump’s policy and allowing applicants to choose for themselves whether they would like to identify with an M for male, F for female, or an X for neither. You can read more about the case at NPR.org<\/a> and refer to CC\u2019s previous guidance on this topic.<\/a>    <\/p>\n

We remind all members of our community to know your rights while traveling within the U.S. and abroad. This guidance from the National Immigration Law Center<\/a> is a useful tool, and you can find the recommended Know Your Rights Cards in the IEB office in Worner, room 234. <\/p>\n

If you are in the process of applying for a passport, it is essential that you check the State Department for current regulations<\/a> and reach out to the Center for Global Education and Field Study<\/a> for questions on CC-related travel.<\/p>\n
