Dear Pre-Health students,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Please see the message below from Dr. Anthony Bull:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Now that you know what courses you are (or are not) enrolled in for the spring semester, I want to remind you that Prof. Lora Louise Broady and I will be offering a NEW course in<\/b> block 6, a Career Catalyst Block (CCB) at the Aspen Institute<\/span><\/a><\/b> (flyer attached). <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Aspen Institute is a leader in the field of social change and the development of diverse, high-impact leaders<\/span><\/b>, which is the field that Prof. Broady (CC Alum \u201982) has expertise in and has worked with in the past.  The course has no specific topic\/field expertise requirements, and is designed for any student at the college, but specifically students who want to be future leaders in social change<\/b> and learn about career skill development<\/b> \u2013 think professional skills to work with others in forwarding social change.  <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s my personal goal to make sure we have a very diverse group of CC students enrolled in the CCB in block 6: economic, social, racial, cultural, gender, and other types of diversity. We want students that are passionate about the big questions that will challenge your generation and who want to be leaders in social change in the areas of economic, sustainability, public health, trust in science, social unity, community impact, etc. \u2013 the Rising Generation!<\/b> <\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here is a link to the Study Away and Abroad<\/span><\/a> page that describes the course in block 6 and here is the link to Summit<\/span><\/a> page where you can find the Block 6 course \u201cAspen Institute\u201d<\/span><\/b> under the Cener For Global Education page where students can apply for the 16 competitive spots in the course<\/i><\/b>.  This course will be taught on campus in week 1 of block 6, in Aspen in week 2, in Washinton DC in week 3, and back on campus in week 4, and thus has a course fee of $3,100 \u2013 with financial assistance<\/b> for students with documented need (financial aid proportional to aid at the college).  Prof. Broady and I have no control over how much aid is awarded, it is determined by the Financial Aid Office.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The application deadline has been extended until 17 December, the final day of block 4.<\/span><\/b>  Please reach out to me or Prof. Broady if you have any questions.  If you do reach out with questions, please make sure you have read all information available on the website and in Summit before sending inquiries.  <\/b>This is one of the many skills we will be developing in students \u2013 preparation and informed questions.  Remember, any \u201cinterview\u201d begins even before you realize it has. <\/span>\ud83d\ude0a<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
