Colorado College is excited to announce a $1.8 million gift to Athletics from the estate of Pat Lyon, honoring the lasting legacy of Pat and her late husband George Lyon P\u201978, P\u201987, P\u201992. The Lyon family\u2019s generosity reflects decades of commitment to Tiger Athletics and to the holistic development of CC student-athletes.<\/p>\n

The gift will help expand access and opportunity, support competitive excellence, and reinforce the championship culture that defines Athletics at CC\u2014on the field, in the classroom, and beyond.<\/p>\n

At 17, Yolanda King is already making a name for herself while spreading her late grandfather\u2019s message of peace and interconnectedness. CC\u2019s Office of Institutional Equity and Belonging brought King to campus on Sunday, January 18, the eve of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, to talk about his legacy in the modern world, share her own perspectives, and answer questions from a panel of area students.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow does civic engagement strengthen the nonviolent social justice movement?\u201d came the first question from Kasey Cross, a student at Pikes Peak State College.<\/p>\n

For the first time in history, the United States did not send an official government delegation under the Trump Administration to COP30, the United Nations\u2019 conference on climate change which took place in November in Bel\u00e9m, Brazil. While the absence cast a shadow over much of the conversation, 194 \u201cparties\u201d did attend and Colorado College students, faculty, and alumni were among them.<\/p>\n

This year was CC\u2019s most diverse virtual delegation so far, with five faculty, five students, and several alumni attending COP30 virtually, highlighting how important climate action is to the CC community.<\/p>\n
