In Colorado College\u2019s Martyrs and Saints course, students don\u2019t just read about history or religion. They explore it firsthand\u2014studying within historic churches and basilicas, admiring mosaics in Rome, and witnessing the Feast of Saint Agatha in Sicily. 
 
Pamela Reaves, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Religion, Culture, Power, taught Martyrs and Saints (Italy)<\/em> in 2019, 2023, 2024, and 2025. The course is fully enrolled for Block 6 in 2026. <\/p>\n

Divisional Progress Reports Now Available<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

January 2026 progress reports<\/a> have been added to CC\u2019s divisional strategic plans, offering a snapshot of how work is unfolding across the College. A core practice of shared governance at CC, these plans provide consistent communication about the College\u2019s direction and how each division is advancing its key priorities. <\/p>\n

Faculty and staff are encouraged to review their own division\u2019s report and explore others as well. Shared clarity leads to shared ownership\u2014enabling everyone to see how their work contributes to broader College priorities and the mission of CC. In the coming academic year, divisional plans will inform the development of an institution-wide strategic plan, as we continue to claim our space in higher education and look ahead to the next 150 years. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Colorado College Intramurals is excited for another round of the Second Saturday Series and the Block 5 SS Regatta! 
 
Build a cardboard boat and race it across Schlessman Pool. You may begin building your boat as early as 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31<\/strong>. Boats must be completed for inspection by 2 p.m. and the race begins at 2:15 p.m.

When Jevon Lipsey \u201926 arrived on campus as a Computer Science major, he envisioned a traditional path in AI research. But a summer studying Midwest Hip Hop with Heidi Lewis, David & Lucile Packard Professor of Feminist and Gender Studies, transformed his trajectory\u2014shifting his focus toward using technology to amplify overlooked voices and challenge inequities. 
 
Lewis and Lipsey chose to research Midwest Hip Hop because they both hail from the region and recognized Hip Hop as a powerful form of ethnography\u2014with artists serving as primary sources documenting their environments, histories, and political realities. <\/p>\n

Ana Mar\u00eda Hernando is perhaps best known for her works made of tulle, a soft, pliable material that comes in a wide range of colors. At the FAC, Hernando presents her tulle sculptural constructions<\/a> in various scales, ranging from intimate wall hangings to immersive installations. Some works frame the doorways of the gallery spaces in bright pink and orange. Others evoke organic forms, such as waterfalls and mountains, in azure blues and petal pinks. The tulle works emphasize the softness and vibrancy of monumental formations, inviting visitors to experience these energies in both the natural world and the museum galleries.
