Join the Office of Communications & Marketing on Thursday, Feb. 12, 1-2 p.m. in Bemis Great Hall<\/strong> for the next Work of the College<\/em>: Brand Refresh Miniseries event, \u201cWriting the CC Way: Style, Voice, and Tone.\u201d<\/a> <\/strong>This session focuses on how our brand comes to life through words. We\u2019ll dive into Colorado College\u2019s refreshed Editorial Style Guide<\/a>, noting how it\u2019s tailored to terminology, practices, and nuances that are uniquely CC. We\u2019ll walk through what\u2019s new, what\u2019s been clarified, and how the guide can serve as a useful tool for your everyday work. <\/p>\n

This session also addresses voice and tone: how to write in a way that feels authentically CC, maintains clarity, and meets the needs of a wide variety of audiences and contexts. In an interactive session, we\u2019ll explore the difference between expressive and functional writing, when each is most effective, and how to decide which to use (hint: you can break the Style Guide rules sometimes\u2014yes, really!) <\/p>\n

The Work of the College<\/em> Series<\/em> is a year-long program of events with four goals: (1) clarify organizational structures and decision-making processes; (2) offer campus constituencies the opportunity to dialogue with leadership about campus affairs; (3) increase decision-making transparency in hopes of building trust; and (4) build community.<\/p>\n
