An idea three years in the making is finally a reality, thanks to dedicated educators working behind the scenes to make it happen\u2014and students in the Pikes Peak region will benefit. Colorado College and Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) have established a new partnership that creates a dedicated transfer pathway for PPSC students to continue their education at CC, strengthening access to a liberal arts degree for students in the Pikes Peak region.<\/p>\n

CC President Manya Whitaker and PPSC President Lance Bolton signed the formal agreement at a ceremony at CC\u2019s Gaylord Hall on Thursday, April 30. On hand to witness the historic initiative take flight were area educators, leadership from both colleges, civic leaders, staff, and members of the media.<\/p>\n

For senior History majors, a block at Chicago\u2019s Newberry Library helped them bring their final research projects to life using historic letters, maps, photo albums, business documents\u2014and even century-old wedding cake.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, this class is the argument for the Block Plan,\u201d says Amy Kohout, Associate Professor of History. \u201cWe can pick up our senior seminar and take it to Chicago, where our students get to conduct their thesis research as junior fellows at the Newberry Library\u2014a world-class archive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chang-Tablada for \u201cYou Oughta Know: Alanis Morissette and the Women Who Rocked the Industry\u201d<\/a> on Friday, May 8, at 5:30 p.m.<\/strong> This lecture explores the influence of Alanis Morissette and the powerful wave of women in rock who shaped, challenged, and expanded the industry.<\/p>\n

Through song and storytelling, J. Chang-Tablada will trace musical connections across generations, from artists like Stevie Nicks to contemporary musicians like Olivia Rodrigo, celebrating the fearless voices and emotional honesty that continue to redefine what it means to be heard. The lecture coincides with Jagged Little Pill: The Musical<\/em>, on stage April 30-May 24. Tickets are $24, or $18 for FAC members, and include your first drink.
