It\u2019s officially week two, and you\u2019ve survived the joy and chaos of the start of the year: preseason, Bridge, International Student Orientation, New Student Orientation, or maybe all of the above. Congratulations!<\/p>\n

By now, you\u2019ve probably figured out where the dining hall is. You know that Rastall to Barnes takes more than three minutes, the line at Benji\u2019s isn\u2019t the \u201cquick caffeine fix\u201d you planned, and the back row isn\u2019t really an option in a class of 15. Maybe you\u2019ve even found a favorite tree on Ta\u2019va Quad or scoped out your Block Crush. In other words, you\u2019re a little less lost than you were a week ago.<\/p>\n

But finding your way around campus and finding your place on campus<\/em> aren\u2019t quite the same thing.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re still figuring out where you fit, who your people are, or even who you want to be here, you\u2019re not behind. A new academic year asks all of us to find our footing again, including faculty and staff. Belonging rarely happens all at once. It grows through small moments: recognizing a familiar face, trying something new, showing up a second time, or finding somewhere you can exhale.<\/p>\n

So keep finding your way. Wander into that speaker you saw on the bathroom flyer. Visit the Career Center\u2014FINALLY! Join that club. Introduce yourself to your Block Crush.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to have CC, or yourself at CC, figured out yet. None of us do.<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s to being a little less lost, a little more connected, and making room for each other along the way. Like the video below states, you belong at Colorado College.<\/p>\n

On July 23, the Department of Education announced that it would no longer enforce Title VI using a disparate-impact standard\u2014this is the principle that a policy can raise civil rights concerns because of its discriminatory effects even without evidence of discriminatory intent. As reported by the AP, \u201cThe Education Department will no longer consider school policies that disproportionately harm one group of students as discriminatory unless the discrimination is intentional, rescinding a decades-long standard for civil rights enforcement.\u201d You can read more about this on the Associated Press<\/a>. <\/p>\n

If you just want to know what all these acronyms mean, here\u2019s a quick primer: IDEAL (Institutional Diversity, Equity & Accessibility Leadership Team)<\/a> is an operational governance group made up of campus leaders with formal responsibility for advancing ADEI work across the College. IPP (International People & Practices)<\/a> is a subcommittee of IDEAL focused on coordinating institutional practices and navigating the increasingly complex immigration landscape affecting our international community. The IEB grant program helps reduce financial barriers to professional development and programming that advance antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI). Grants may support participation in, attendance at, or creation of opportunities that further the College\u2019s mission and individual growth.<\/p>\n

Complete this form<\/a> describing your funding needs. <\/p>\n

Applications for fall 2026 funding are due Oct. 1; applications for spring 2027 funding are due March 1, 2027.<\/strong> Because review and decisions require at least two weeks, we strongly recommend applying at least one month before your activity.<\/p>\n

The IEB leadership team will review requests for alignment with its mission and vision and notify applicants by email within two weeks. The grant will remain open until funds are exhausted, at which point the campus will be notified.<\/p>\n
