A total of 607 alumni made a gift to Colorado College in a single day — on Dec. 3 — in response to a 24-hour challenge. The challenge, which could only be met if 500 alumni donors made a gift that day, successfully secured $50,000 from an anonymous donor.
The day-long challenge happened during the college’s annual Giving Week, Dec. 1-5, during which 1,893 alumni, parents and friends collectively contributed $594,296 to Colorado College, an amount that includes the $50,000 challenge gift.
“We are blown away by the outpouring of generosity that members of the CC community demonstrated during this year’s 24-hour challenge and during Giving Week,” said Kerry Brooke Steere, director of annual giving.
Among those who gave, 204 alumni from the 1980s and more than 360 young alumni — who are graduates from the past 15 years — made a gift. Parents also played a major role, with 484 donors giving a total of $149,502.
If you were not able to participate in #FeedtheTiger, there is still time to make your tax-deductible gift before the end of the year. For more information and final results of Giving Week, visit www.coloradocollege.edu/feedthetiger.
