While this portfolio has more of an emphasis on quantitative analysis, it is becoming more important to analyze the qualitative aspects of a company. So, in 2021 I am going to ask everyone to pay more attention to management, employee satisfaction, and ESG policies (all of which I will go over in our first meeting). Quantitatively, we should be looking at a company’s balance sheet, their gross profit, margins, debt coverage, etc. Lets work more so as investigative journalists in 2021, trying to find a creative edge. Also, I encourage everyone to pay attention to macro trends (maybe read the headlines in the WSJ or Economist). Macro trends can be a great predictor to which industries should take off/struggle in the future.
