Dan talked about the most recent meeting of the Future Technology Team and encouraged the Division to attend future meetings. Dan’s team has decided not to continue with the charging stations in the Tutt library. The team is open to suggestions and questions.
Brian discussed the satisfaction survey results, as well as an update on the Provost search.
David Z. reported on the work the budget committee has been doing. The group has identified multiple areas and contracts that can be cancelled or renegotiated. David also gave an update on the back-up project, disaster recovery, and VOiP. He is hoping that the new phone network system will be fully implemented and functional by Block 1 in summer of 2018.
Katharina’s and Matt’s teams are in the final stages of hiring for their open positions. They are not able to share any names yet.
Linda gave an update on The Big Idea and a shout out to the AV team. This year is the first year for The Big Idea to be available with Closed Captioning.l
Chad talked about eSports. Chad is hoping for a dedicated space for the teams to meet and practice. He is also working on improving visibility.
Tulio leads A+ certification classes. The class meets once a week for one hour. Students are able to become certified upon successfully completing the class and certification.
