Filming “The Block Plan” Documentary

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Block Plan in 2020, a group of faculty, staff, alumni, and students are creating a documentary about the Block Plan. The documentary, funded by the Inasmuch Foundation, will explore the past and present of the Block Plan through the perspectives of its foundational figures and current students and faculty.

Joined by a crew of students and alumni, Professor Steven Hayward (English), Professor Clay Haskell (Film & Media Studies), Bryan Beasley, and Jaime Roman ’13 began filming the documentary on campus this week. They interviewed Professors Emeriti Glenn Brooks, Bill Hochman, and Dave Finley (and Dave’s wife Judy Finley ’58), as well as Professor Susan Ashley (History), who is currently writing a book on the history of the Plan.

I am looking forward to the completion of these projects and our celebration in 2020!
