On Thursday, I enjoyed a meeting and dinner with Denise Young Smith, the former VP of Diversity & Inclusion at Apple. As an Executive in Residence, she joined us on campus last week to share her experiences and expertise.
Denise offered a variety of opportunities for dialogue on being a woman of color in the technology space, as well as creating a richer culture of diversity and inclusion in the professional world. She spoke at a lunch session with students on “Doing Your Life’s Best Work,” and at a dinner with students, faculty, staff, and Colorado Springs community members (Denise grew up the Springs). Denise also met with our Seniors of Color and the Coding Club.
Thanks to Denise for the insight and mentoring she provided to our campus community!
