Jungle, an English modern soul musical collective was formed\u00a0by Tom McFarland and Josh Lloyd-Watson i<\/span><\/span>n<\/span><\/span>\u00a0London\u00a0<\/span><\/span>back\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in 2013<\/span><\/span>. McFarland and Lloyd-Watson had known each other since the age of nine, where they lived as neighbors in Shepherds Bush, London. After playing in various musical groups throughout their secondary education, the pair formed Jungle. The pair became known as J and T, after advocating for a concentration on the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>aesthetic<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of their sound, focusing on art and video, instead of their own personal identity taking stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Since its formation, and after their first year\u00a0<\/span><\/span>spent playing with other artists of a variety of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>disciplines,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Jungle has become a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>seven<\/span><\/span>-piece band. J and T resisted the route of re-producing their music and performing on laptops, and instead rendered their music into authentic, live performance. J and T understand music to be a collective and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>collaborative<\/span><\/span>\u00a0experience, and that energy is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>absolutely palpable<\/span><\/span>\u00a0when they perform.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Their first album, \u201cJungle,\u201d was released in 2014, and since they have released various singles, and just recently came out with a new album, \u201cFor Ever,\u201d on September 14<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of this year.\u00a0The music collective has travelled across the world to\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>perform, and<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0will be visiting Colorado Springs for the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>first time<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0next Friday, September 28<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/span>, 2018.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jungle\u2019s style is often\u00a0<\/span><\/span>characterized<\/span><\/span>\u00a0as \u201cmidtempo 1970s funk,\u201d with sounds such as tropical percussion, wildlife noise, falsetto yelps, and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>psychedelic waves.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Whether it be<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the inclusive nature of the band, or\u00a0<\/span><\/span>perhaps the<\/span><\/span>\u00a0diversity of their sound, Jungle offers a performance of absolute energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
