After eating breakfast that our host has been giving us everyday, bless his heart, we made our way to the tunnel based on spirited away. This is the point in the movie in which chihiro begins her journey, as we did ours. We walked out the door and were greeted by our new dogs friends to help us start our day on the right foot. The morning took a turn of just walking randomly after spending some time at the tunnel, not knowing where we were going or headed. Farther and farther from the city we walked through many flights of stairs. We did not expect to see the beautiful things we saw as we explored the non-tourist areas. The nature, green and mossy as ever. The landscape, vast and unbelievable to our eyes. The temple… easily one of the most amazing things we have seen. The monks were very friendly to us as we stood there in awe of the culture, architecture, and religious symbols we were unfamiliar of. The pictures we took did not depict enough of the emotion we felt, but none the less we were snapping away trying desperately to capture the moment. The hike back up made us sweaty and tired, so we headed back for some rest before dinner. The weather also managed to stay somewhat clear without a drop of rain, so that was pretty exciting as we only knew Jiufun as a worse Seattle. We headed to a restaurant that doubled up as a bnb that had some tasty looking pictures we eyeballed earlier, but on our way through old street there was a traffic jam of people. After about five to seven minutes of waiting and being pushed around we decided to push back and make our way to dinner. We ordered a two person hot pot and finally got some pork bao along with it. So far the first days food was tasty, and today’s not that great. We headed back home, and right as we got in it began to pour. Lucky us! But we are stilling looking for something that will wow our appetite. End Day 2.
