Selling Paper

Posted by on January 31, 2013

A couple of years ago, the CAT Lab’s main source of ‘revenue’ was color printing. People would come a couple of times per shift, asking you to help them print pictures and other images. However, printing is now free. We do not do photo printing anymore. People come, do their printing, and leave. Some don’t even know that at some point we charged for it.

Yet, we still have a lot of photo paper. And people might want to buy it, to use elsewhere. The prices by the closet are for printing+the paper. So if someone comes and just wants the paper, should you charge? How much should you charge? Should it be cash, budget code, or gold card? Tough questions indeed.

The answer:

That’s right. Cut the prices in half, and continue asking for cash only.
