Class Notes: 50s and 60s

The Fifty Year Club gathered at the Baca Campus for a three-plus-day program in July with History Professor Carol Neel and Anthropology Professor Mario Montano. In addition to participating in faculty discussions, the group visited an organic farm, a Buddhist shrine, a Carmelite hermitage, and a Japanese sanctuary based in Shinto roots. The Alumni Office is planning additional programs at Baca for both the Fifty Year Club and other alumni groups. Guy Gibbs was elected to the Colorado College Sports Hall of Fame for accomplishments after graduation.

Bill Kemp ’57 was vacationing in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, when he noticed a CC sticker on the guitar case of Sarah Smith ’99. Sarah was playing her weekly Tuesday show at Latitude 18. The alumni chatted during a set break.

Rory Donaldson and his son, Chris, have founded a company, Brainsarefun.com, that teaches reading and math. He lives in Denver with “the love of his life” Louisa, and continues to read and write vigorously.

Jane Lubchenco has been awarded a doctorate of science degree at Rutgers University.
