Colorado College has earned a STARS Gold rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). The college tied for first place in water conservation, reuse, use reduction, and rainwater management (the third year CC was named a top performer in this category), and was seventh in air and climate, which measures greenhouse gas emissions assessment and mitigation and outdoor air quality. CC also received a gold rating in data accuracy and made the STARS Gold list. CC, the first institution in the Rocky Mountain region to become carbon neutral, was awarded its first Gold rating in 2015 by STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System that measures and encourages sustainability in all aspects of higher education.
