Springfield attorney Debra Gunkel was appointed by former Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter to the position of Baca County Court judge. The appointment was one of six new county and district court judges selected by the Colorado governor. Debra has been an attorney since 1994 and has worked for the district attorney’s office in Lamar. She has a law firm in Springfield. “At this point in my life, with my daughter away at college, I can focus on the things that have always driven me, one of which is law,” she told the Pueblo Chieftain newspaper.
Mary Ruble, senior vice president of wealth management and securities services for U.S. Bancorp., was recognized as one of 64 women leaders ranked among the Top Banking Teams for 2010 by U.S. Banker magazine.

Erica Marie Berens has completed a master’s degree program in holistic nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health. She has been living in Snowmass Village, Colo., since 1992 and is opening a yoga studio there. She also operates a nutritional consulting business and has been teaching yoga since 2003. Erica is also a backcountry guide, leading supper hikes and winter snowshoeing trips in the area, and she has created a line of handmade aromatherapy products, Four Seasons AromaTherapy.
