Field trip for IT104 con Vanessa

This week our students (IT104 – Elementary Italian II) took a tour of north Denver’s historic “Little Italy,” where they dined at Gaetano’s, an infamous mob hangout of the Smaldone family. Buon appetito!

They also visited the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, which was built in 1904 for the Italian community, the Potenza Lodge, which provided job and housing assistance to recent immigrants (most of whom came from Potenza), and Leprino Foods, which started as a one-room grocery store and cheese shop and is now the world’s  largest supplier of mozzarella!
