Dopo il caffè…

Dario was a great barista! Here is proof (grazie Mami):

Grazie for coming and chatting with us, hope you enjoyed it – you surely did like the coffee! 🙂

DON’T FORGET: this is a blockly event, so we’ll have our next espresso session on the second Monday of Block 8.

A presto!

Colazione insieme

Spring is here!…And it makes us sleepy 😉 What better way to wake up properly than with an awesome breakfast together? Come to the Italian House lounge tomorrow at 8:30 and you can eat/grab:

Pancakes! Eggs & bacon! Muffins! Fruits! Hot chocolate! Good coffee!… well, there’s more but we can’t spoil the surprise 😀

Venite, a domani! vvv-page-001

Pizza & Face Swapping

It’s the end of Block 6 and we are celebrating “all’italiana”!

It’s officially a tradition: pizza marks the end of all the students’ efforts 😉 Ben fatto!

Some students also had the brilliant idea to use their Snapchat to make a dream come true and swap their face with Dario’s. I also attempted a makeover which turned out really well! To see the marvelous outcomes of both experiments, check our Facebook group 🙂

Finally, the students got to present their awesome short movies (inspired by “Buongiorno” ) in the Max Kade Theater. All of them proved their Italian is already very good and they definitely have a future as actors/directors!

Enjoy the well-deserved break ragazzi, buone vacanze!

Gnocchi Masterchefs!

Last night was all about learning the “gnocchi technique” while having fun!

Antonio and Marsha were great instructors for our students, residents and community members – and they were great Mazurka dancers, too!

Now we know how to make tasty gnocchi and how to impress everyone at the next family dinner 😉

Grazie to all those who came and participated and GRAZIE MILLE Antonio & Marsha!

(Sweet) Roman Holiday

La nostra risposta alla neve / Our answer to the snow

vacanze-page-001.jpg

Let’s bake and watch Roman Holiday together this Thursday at 8pm – with the cold weather this event is just perfect!

Our passionate baking Princesses Kelly & Olivia are organizing this, so come give your support (and why not, help out in the kitchen) 🙂

Hot chocolate and other hot drinks will be provided. See you there!

Back in cucina: Gnocchi Lab!

Why ordering them at the restaurant when you can make them yourself?

How to make-page-001

This Wednesday (Feb. 3) at 6 pm, come learn from Antonio (a.k.a. “Re Gnocco”) all the secrets of the perfect gnocchi! Not only will we make them – and obviously eat them – but we will also FINALLY learn how to correctly pronounce one of the trickiest Italian words 😉

Time to start correcting your friends when they mispronounce the “gn” or the “ch”… And of course, time to cook with us!

PLEASE / PER FAVORE: RSVP NEEDED by Monday!

Crazy masks – Maschere pazze!

A big GRAZIE to Georgia & Kyra for such a fun night!

We got to create our own masks while listening to Italian songs (and, well, ABBA… 😀 ) and we were all so proud of them!

carneval

carneval2

In couples, students, residents and CPCs took the “Quiz di Carnevale” and then we finally enjoyed the food 😉

Oh, and last but not least: Francisco, Gabbie, Maddie and Corrina all came up with new and exciting plans for our community at the Italian House – stay tuned for more information!

Pizza per tutti

Ragazzi, you deserved it!

Delicious Neapolitan pizza for everybody to celebrate the impressive progress made in the past days – your Italian is constantly improving!

A Carnevale ogni scherzo vale!

Join us for a wonderful Carnival-style party organized by our talented residents & artists Georgia & Kyra! 🙂

Masks and music will contribute to the atmosphere and who knows, maybe we won’t be too sad not to be in Venice this time of the year 😉

Feel free to play with your outfit and be creative, because that’s what Carnevale is all about!

A mercoledi’!
