Do you want to engage with the local community more deeply? Now is the time to commit to action. This academic year, how will you co-create a just, equitable, sustainable, and connected world?

Below is a look ahead at opportunities to get engaged this fall, offered through the Collaborative for Community Engagement.

You can see a calendar and read more about specific opportunities on the CCE website, and explore roadmaps of CCE opportunities for students and faculty. To connect with nonprofit organizations that partner with the college, peruse this list of CC High Impact Partners or our wider partner database.

Block 1

Students: Attend an information session to find out more about CCE programs and workshops.
- Community Engaged Scholars (Sept. 6, RSVP)
- Bonner Fellowship (Sept. 7, RSVP)
- Public Achievement (Sept. 12, RSVP). Apply by Sept. 22.
- Changemaker Curriculum (Sept. 13, RSVP).
Faculty and Staff Educators: Connect to a community partner for a class or research project through the PEAK Project (Publicly Engaged, Actionable Knowledge). Submit an Educator Interest Form by 9/25.

Block 2

Students: Apply to the Bonner Fellowship by Sept. 26. Attend an info session about the Davis Projects for Peace (Oct. 11, RSVP).
Campus: Engage through the CC Week of Action, Oct. 2-8.

Block 3

Students: Pre-register for a Community-Engaged Learning Course for spring semester (Nov. 7-Dec. 2). Register for a Community Engaged Capstone and Thesis Design Half-Block class (email for more information).

Block 4

Campus: Nominate a student for the Newman Civic Fellowship by Dec. 12
Students: Submit a proposal for the Davis Projects for Peace.

Ongoing Opportunities:

Students

Join an engaged student organization
Attend Changemaker Curriculum workshops
Apply to Community Engaged Scholars (rolling admissions)
Participate in a BreakOut service opportunity on a Saturday or block break

Faculty

Teach a community-engaged learning course
Attend “Faculty Conversations,” a lunch-and-learn series
Attend a Faculty Development workshop

Campus

Join an Issue Coalition or Listserv
Apply for mini-grant funding (for students and for educators)
Volunteer directly with local nonprofits
