Week of Action is October 2-8

Save the date for this year’s Week of Action happening Sunday, Oct. 2 through Saturday, Oct. 8.

The Week of Action, sponsored by the Collaborative for Community Engagement, is a campus-wide week of opportunities and events to mobilize and inspire CC students, staff, and faculty to engage in local community-based work. We also aim to expose our campus community to shared issues, challenges, and organizations with which they can continue to engage. See the list of events below and make sure to check out the Week of Action website for details.

All Week
Food drive to support the CC Food Pantry. Food drop boxes will be located: Armstrong Hall first floor lobby; CC Mailroom; Colorado Coffee in Worner Campus Center; Tutt Library main entrance; and the Hybl Community Center.

Sunday, Oct. 2, 1-4 p.m.
Join the Office of Sustainability and Fountain Creek Watershed for a Creek Week clean up. We will be cleaning up a section of Monument Creek near campus. Please register by Friday, Sept. 30.

Monday, Oct. 3, 3:30-5 p.m.
Visit the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum to explore the histories of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region, and further your understanding of our community. Please register in advance.

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 3:30-5 p.m.
Help build biking and walking trails with Concrete Couch at Concrete Coyote; tools, materials, and training will be provided. To RSVP, email steve@concretecouch.org.

Wednesday, Oct. 5, 4-6 p.m.
Join Concrete Couch at Concrete Coyote to learn about trees and plant care. To RSVP, email george@concretecouch.org.

Thursday, Oct. 6
Join Concrete Couch at Johns Adams Elementary School to help create a fun, community-based mural. To learn more or RSVP, contact steve@concretecouch.org.

Friday, Oct. 7, 12:30-3 p.m.
Come plant garlic at the CC Farm. All supplies provided. Please register in advance.

Saturday, Oct. 8
Manitou Open Space Community Stewardship Day with Rocky Mountain Field Institute. Help RMFI improve a highly eroded switchback by constructing timber steps and a retaining wall below the summit of Red Mountain at Manitou Open Space. Check out the full details and register in advance.
