This month’s newsletter includes updates on annual compensation, open enrollment, how to learn more about our retirement options, and opportunities to provide feedback on our Performance Management process.

Meet Pam Butler, Compensation Manager

Pam’s career in HR began in 1988 with Walter Drake and Sons where she managed payroll and benefits processes, employee relations, policy development, and communications. She served as editor of the employee newsletter and led the implementation of an automated time and attendance system. Pam joined Colorado College in 1998 as an Employment Specialist. In this role, Pam was instrumental in the college’s conversion to the Banner enterprise-wide database. Pam’s current role includes oversight of the HR module of Banner and supporting the salary administration, job classifications, and talent acquisition functions. Pam attended the Detroit College of Business and has participated in numerous HR professional development seminars with Mountain States Employers Council.

Compensation update

Annual compensation increases will be announced on May 26.

Salary/pay change letters with individual information will be mailed to employee homes to arrive before July 1. Please be sure that HR has your correct mailing address as soon as possible. You can see the address we have on file for you in Banner by clicking Personal Information, then View Addresses and Phones. If you need to update your address or phone number, email HR@coloradocollege.edu.

Job Opening Spotlight

Do you know someone who loves to work behind the scenes, operating in a vital role to ensure campus building temperatures are regulated? A Central Plant Operator position is open at Colorado College. The person in this position will operate and service industrial boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment in the central heating plant. They will also perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders on equipment as needed.

Benefits Highlight – TIAA

In our last pulse survey, we asked what benefit you would like to learn more about. 80% of respondents said they’d like to know more about the retirement plan.

Colorado College provides individual counseling sessions at no additional cost to you with Jeremy Thompson, TIAA Financial Consultant and Client Relationships. You can discuss your personal financial situation with Jeremy on a confidential basis. He is available to discuss how to help you pursue your financial goals by investing in financial products such as mutual funds, brokerage, life insurance, and annuities.

The session will provide you with a personalized, actionable plan based on, among other things, your goals, time horizon, and individual risk tolerance. Schedule an appointment with Jeremy. He will be at Colorado College in June and July.
