June 2023 People Connections – Human Resources Newsletter

This month’s newsletter includes an invitation to a leadership open forum, performance management updates, changes to the e-benefits portal, and an opportunity to provide suggestions for upcoming professional development opportunities at CC.

Leadership Open Forum

We invite all members of the campus community to join us on July 27 from 2-3 p.m. for an open forum focused on leadership and cultivating leadership capacity at CC. Leadership is a quality that exists at every level at Colorado College and we want to highlight instances of great leadership, as well as find ways to unlock our potential as leaders. Register in advance.

Performance Management Update

Thank you to all campus community members who provided feedback on the performance management process by attending one of the five feedback sessions, or completing the survey shared in the HR Newsletter and digest. There were several recurring themes and we will be focusing our work to address those concerns. The themes you shared were:
– Training and resources available for effective goal setting and feedback practices that promote equity and professional growth at all levels of the campus community
– Support for performance feedback across the whole year, not just tied to annual evaluations
– Clarify the process by creating college-wide guidance about the different performance categories
– Make the process easier for employees and supervisors to complete

– Articulate the value of performance evaluations and their connection to compensation and career progression

In the fall we will be offering multiple training sessions focused on cultivating meaningful feedback practices to directly meet these needs. Additionally, we will be reaching out with process and guideline updates as well as resources for supporting ongoing feedback. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to share your experiences with us.

E-Benefits Portal Change

The benefits platform we use to enroll in benefits is getting a new look! We have not changed providers, but the new interface is more intuitive and user friendly. User support guides will be shared on the benefits website once the system goes live in early July.
