Peeping Tom Spotted Off Campus

Peeping Tom Off Campus

Over the last two weeks, Campus Safety has received notification of a person looking into windows at off-campus residences along Weber St. and Wahsatch Ave. The person has been described as a Caucasian male wearing all black clothing and a black, ski-style mask. Witnesses reported the suspect was bald when he removed the mask.

If you observe suspicious activity or circumstances, call 911 and make a report to the Colorado Springs Police Department. If possible, have another person call campus safety at (719) 389-6911 at the same time.

Please remember these residential safety tips:

  • Make sure your doors and windows are secure at night or when you aren’t home.
  • Maintain your situational awareness and report any suspicious activity, behavior, or circumstances to Colorado Springs Police Department by calling 911 and Campus Safety.
  • If you observe anyone attempting to enter a residence unlawfully, contact 911.
  • Check with your landlord for installation of motion lights or cameras in your off-campus housing.
  • Request your landlord cut back bushes and trees to leave clear paths around the residence.
  • Shut and secure gates to yards and the alley.

Campus Safety is available to complete an assessment of your off-campus residence at no cost to you. The program is called Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. Safety suggestions can be provided to your landlord. To request an assessment, email campus safety at campussafety@coloradocollege.edu.
