Title IX Final Rules

Dear CC Community,

On Friday, April 19, the Biden Administration released the Department of Education’s 2024 Title IX Final Rules. With the release of the Final Rules, the Department of Education has issued new regulations concerning how institutions of education must respond to reported incidents of discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. Educational institutions have until August 1, 2024, to update their policies and procedures to bring them into compliance with these new regulations.

While it will take some time for us to fully review and interpret the regulations, we want to ensure our community has access to the information. An overview of the key provisions contained in these regulations may be accessed here. Once reviewed, the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX will be updating our policies and will continue meeting with departments directly to discuss how these changes will impact our community.

If there are questions, comments, or concerns, or if you would like to report an incidence of discrimination, please contact the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX.
