Don’t Miss Opening Convocation

Begin the 2026-2027 academic year with CC spirit, reflection, and community at Opening Convocation, Monday, Aug. 24, at 9 a.m. in Shove Memorial Chapel.
This annual CC tradition is an opportunity to welcome new members of our community, reconnect with colleagues and friends, and look ahead to the year to come. Attendees will hear remarks from Sophia Murphy ’27, President of the Colorado College Student Government Association, and President Manya Whitaker.
Classes will begin at 10:30 a.m., immediately following Opening Convocation.
Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend and help make Opening Convocation a meaningful start to the new academic year.

Join the Fun at Worner Welcome!

Celebrate the start of the academic year at Worner Welcome on Monday, Aug. 24, from noon-2 p.m. at Worner Campus Center. The Butler Center, Campus Activities, Arts & Crafts, and the Office of Institutional Equity & Belonging invite students, faculty, and staff to explore Worner and enjoy free esquite, paletas, and aguas frescas from Paleteria Arcoiris.
Treats are available first come, first served, so stop by while supplies last!

Audition for the CC Chamber Orchestra
|
The CC Chamber Orchestra is holding auditions for string, wind, and percussion players on Friday, Aug. 28, in Packard Hall, Room 9. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome to audition.
Bring a short piece or excerpt that showcases your playing, and be prepared to do a little sight-reading. The orchestra rehearses Tuesdays from 7:30-9 p.m. in Packard Performance Hall, with the fall concert scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Featured stories in broadcast and print media celebrated the robust musical experiences during the Festival’s 42nd season.

First Friday Opens the FAC’s Fall Exhibition Season

Celebrate the start of the FAC Museum’s fall exhibition season during First Friday on Sept. 4 at 5 p.m., with the opening of Annalee Davis: More Tender Geographies. Explore the exhibition, enjoy live music, and hear from the artist and museum staff during a special gallery talk. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Admission is free, and RSVPs are encouraged. Your RSVP includes access to the opening celebration, First Friday activities, and all museum galleries.
