In compliance with federal Clery Act requirements, Colorado College Campus Safety has completed the 2026 Campus Safety and Fire Safety Annual Report. The report provides information about campus safety policies and procedures, crime prevention and reporting, and statistics concerning certain crimes reported on or near campus. Institutions participating in federal student financial aid programs are required to compile and distribute this information annually.
New for 2026, Colorado law establishes requirements for institutions of higher education when a student is reported missing. Under Senate Bill 26-120, Missing Persons Training & Higher Education Reporting, an institution must either immediately notify law enforcement or conduct a preliminary wellness assessment lasting no more than six hours. If the student is not located within that period, or if there is evidence of a credible risk to the student’s safety, the institution must notify the appropriate law enforcement agency. The law also requires institutions to adopt and publish a preliminary wellness assessment policy outlining the steps used when responding to a report of a missing student.
