When Alexis Hernandez ’14 graduated from Colorado College in May 2014, she was well prepared to chase her dreams of a career in public health.
Hernandez — a molecular and cellular biology major, and anthropology minor — was able to enroll at CC because of the generosity of others.
“Financial aid is close to my heart,” says Hernandez. “Without tuition assistance, I simply would not have been able to attend CC. I have benefited greatly from the college’s unique DNA — the personalized education with outstanding faculty that allowed me to focus intensely on a new subject every three and a half weeks.”
Hernandez’s classroom experiences were strengthened by a study abroad experience in Santiago, Chile, and an internship in Kenya, where she evaluated the effectiveness of public health projects.
“This treasure of opportunity has shaped who I am and who I will become,” says Hernandez.
