My name is Alex Donahue and I’m a sophomore from Massachusetts. I’m a neuroscience major because I believe that understanding the brain allows us to understand our bodies, our decisions, and our interactions with others. I’m interested in journalism because being a scientist and an effective writer could give me the skills to make complicated scientific concepts tangible to the general public.
Being outside in quiet, open spaces, hiking, reading, or kayaking, always makes me feel calm and clear-minded. I’m passionate about preserving the environment because I’m passionate about preserving quality of life. I also care a lot about destigmatizing mental health, equal rights (specifically those based in gender and sexuality), making the outdoors more accessible, and spending quality time with the people I love.
