NATIONAL HISTORY DAY 2024

PIKES PEAK REGIONAL CONTEST: The 2024 Regional Contest will be held on the Campus of Colorado College, Saturday, March 2, 2024.

2024 National Theme:  “Turning Points in History”

What is History Day? All Middle and High School age students (grades 6-8 & 9-12) are invited to “DO” History by preparing a research paper, a multimedia documentary, a web site, a dramatic performance or an imaginative exhibit on a topic of their own choosing.

Projects will be judged on research, primary sources, historical accuracy, presentation of thesis and argument and on how well they relate to the national theme.

PLEASE REMEMBER:  All participants including group members must fill out and submit their own registration form.

Entry Fees due by February 26th      ($5 fee per ENTRY not per student)

All Registration Corrections/title changes should be made by February 26, 2024.

Paper Category Entries & “Published” Web Page Entries:

DUE: Monday, February 19, 2024

–Papers due via email to klindeman@coloradocollege.edu 

–Websites must be published and will lock at midnight. 

Regional Contest      March 2, 2024 on the Colorado College campus.

State Contest            April 27, 2024  at University of Colorado at Denver Auria Campus

National Contest      June 9-13, 2024 at the University of Maryland, College Park.

(Please note: Entries in the Paper and Web Site categories mut be completed and turned in BEFORE the regional competition. Judges need extra time to evaluate these categories.)

ALL OTHER CATEGORIES: Contest information and room assignments will be sent to individual competitors or group leaders before the in-person contest on March 2nd.
