PIKES PEAK REGIONAL CONTEST: The 2021 Contest will be VIRTUAL. All projects must be submitted on-line for judging.  See below.

2021 National Theme:  “Communication in History: The Key to Understanding”

What is History Day? All Middle and High School age students (grades 6-8 & 9-12) are invited to “DO” History by preparing a research paper, a multimedia documentary, a web site, a dramatic performance or an imaginative exhibit on a topic of their own choosing.

Projects will be judged on research, primary sources, historical accuracy, presentation of thesis and argument and on how well they relate to the national theme.

Pikes Peak/Colorado Springs Regional On-line registration:

REGISTRATION will be open January 1-31, 2021.

PLEASE REMEMBER:  All participants including group members must fill out and submit their own registration form.

Please make any registration or title corrections by contacting: Kathy Lindeman, NHD Regional Coordinator:  klindeman@coloradocollege.edu.  Changes will be accepted until February 19, 2021

 PAPER & WEBSITE Deadlines: February 15 @ midnight (You must submit your project digitally according to the digital submission guidelines available here: bit.ly/2021nhdccontests)

–Papers due via email to klindeman@coloradocollege.edu and copy to nhdc@ucdenver.edu

–Websites must be published and will lock at midnight. Copy and paste your complete
website link, being sure to include your unique 8-digit id and send to nhdc@ucdenver.edu and e-mail klindeman@coloradocollege.edu.

(Please note: Entries in the Paper and Web Site categories must be completed and turned in BEFORE the regional competition. Judges need extra time to evaluate these categories.)

ALL OTHER CATEGORIES: You must submit your project digitally by February 22 at 5 pm according to the digital submission guidelines available here: bit.ly/2021nhdccontests
