Grizzly Bear never fails to produce a hauntingly eerie, yet charmingly whimsical sound. It is in this paradox that they find their niche.
Allison Schulnik‘s video for the track Ready, Able is a stunning multi-media production that elegantly accompanies the song. Her animations bring to life the full bodied, low-fi reverberations of the track, embody the influences of neo-psychedelia, and reflect the folksy undertones of the sound.
The question in my mind always exists as to whether the music video perverts the message of a song, confounding the listeners emotional reaction with visual influences. This film, however, has given me renewed faith in the music video.
