SONG OF THE DAY- “Glowed Up” feat. Anderson Paak – Kaytranada

Today's track is gifted to us from producer Kaytranada featuring  Anderson Paak. The quintessential Kaytranada bass line plus with the alto vocals of Anderson Paak equals an emotive and eerie track. This song brings imagery of neon lights and halloween. The music video is the perfect visual accompaniment to this track by placing the viewer and listener in the mystical world of Kaytranada.   With his recent coming out to his fans as homosexual and the upcoming release of his album "99.9%", Kaytranada is an artist to watch.  Nearing 100%, we wait until Kaytranada leaves his lab and shares what else he has created.

Song of the Day – “I Wanna Boi” – PWR BTTM

Today’s Song of the Day is "I Wanna Boi” from the queer punk duo PWR BTTM. Liv Bruce and Ben Hopkins met at Bard College and spend their playing shows on the Bard campus. Their raw punk sound is reminiscent of something heard at a house party somewhere around CC. However it is their unconventional lyricism that works do break down norms of sexuality and music makes PWR BTTM worth a listen. If you love the song email ob8419@Bard.edu.

SONG OF THE DAY – Stay Awake (ft. Mick Jenkins & Twista) – Supa Bwe

Today’s song of the day comes from the audio magician Supa Bwe. Supa, yet another rapper coming from the cultural renaissance currently happening Chicago, has been producing and rapping for a few years now. “Stay Awake”, from Supa's Hurt Everybody mixtape, produced by Zen Zan, was released seven months ago on Soundcloud. The slowed down beat, extended bass, and wavey melody sets makes a perfect canvas for rappers Twista, Mick Jenkins and Supa Bwe to work with. Supa’s talent for making a hook sets a stage for Mick Jenkins and Twista to go in. Mick Jenkins lyrics, “let me see that dropped pin”, takes a unexpected satirical twist to this song. The juxtaposition between the slow verses of Mick Jenkins and the rapid lyrics of Twista makes this a complex and unique banger. Enjoy this song to w...

CONCERT REVIEW- Ominous Animals and Kauzmann On Ice

This past Saturday night CC students gathered at 666 Uintah to let out some energy to the sounds of CC student bands Ominous Animals and Kauzmann On Ice. Above the roar of friends gathered around, upbeat guitars and smashing symbols keeping the room sweaty, lively, and full until the bitter end.   While I personally showed up late to the Ominous Animals set, friends like Lena Farr-Morrissey shared that they brought a lot of energy to the room with groovy jams like their rendition of “White Room” by Cream. They have been consistently creating an incredible atmosphere for every live set. These talented musicians have been around the CC music scene for a few years now and they that have come together under the name of Ominous Animals. The crowd always adores their performance a...
