Storm Deposits Research

Sedimentological Record of Storms and Related Events

I have a long-standing interest in tempestites and associated storm-generated sedimentary structures. This work includes study of a wide variety of combined flow (waves and currents) deposits, including those of wave-modified turbidity currents. Work on Cambrian Antarctic deposits (Myrow et al., 2002) was followed by a study of hyperpycnal flow deposits in Pennsylvanian strata in central Colorado (Myrow et al., 2008; Lamb et al., 2008).
