What Makes Us CC?

About

One of our five strategic initiatives is to enhance our identity as a distinctive place of learning. To advance this part of our strategic plan, we are developing a master communications plan to present the college to our constituencies and to the world. Your input and participation in this process are valuable as we work to articulate and share the things that make us so uniquely CC.

The charge of our master communications planning process is to offer a clear, unified message to and for our campus community, alumni, and visitors. The goal is to develop comprehensive communications efforts that reflect key differentiators that set CC apart: the Block Plan, our unique physical place, and our people.

As part of this master communications plan, we will develop communications, ranging from the continued development of the CC story to the signage we use to identify our physical resources, to the language we use to describe the people and culture that define our CC experience.

At the close of the 2013-14 academic year, the college selected the agency Victors and Spoils to facilitate the master communications plan process. Headed by CC alum John Winsor ’82, V&S team members are working as information gatherers using a critical eye and creative processes to compile the details and data we share with them about our CC identity.

Work commenced over the summer, through dialogue with current and prospective students, alumni, faculty, and leaders at the college, along with on-campus visits to take in our current space and the story we’re telling to various audiences.

Now that our full CC community is back on campus, more of the real work can begin. Throughout Blocks 1 and 2, we will delve deeply into better understanding CC’s most valuable resource: our people. You are invited to participate, so please take advantage of opportunities to share your ideas and stories.

Through this ideas blog we will share with you regular updates throughout this development process, along with opportunities to share feedback and input. The blog, in coordination with on-campus identity boards, will aid in gathering your input in defining and articulating our CC identity.

We need your help to genuinely define what kind of people choose to be here and why. The master communications plan will provide us with a unified message with which to share the vibrant stories and unique voices that make up our CC community.
