Patty Pansing BrooksPatty Pansing Brooks is running for the Nebraska Legislature, District 27 (pattypansingbrooks.com). She lives in Lincoln, Neb., and is an attorney. She received her law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law.

Dave Feamster was profiled in the Pueblo (Colo.) Chieftain’s “Hometown Heroes” series. After playing four seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, he owns pizzerias in southern Colorado, leads youth hockey camps, and is a philanthropist.

Bob Shake has joined Denali Alaskan in Anchorage as the credit union’s chief lending officer; he is responsible for all lending activity, including indirect lending, member business lending, and mortgage loans, as well as loan control and loan collections. Previously, he spent more than 20 years in senior management positions at various Alaska financial institutions.

1981

Debbie Patton Swanson is vice president of development for Early Connections Learning Centers in Colorado Springs. The centers provide child care and education on a sliding scale to prepare all children for school.

1984

Amy ColeAmy Cole has been named president of Tubelite Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of architectural aluminum storefront, entrance, and curtainwall systems based in Walker, Mich. Most recently, she was general manager, residential/light commercial business, at Kohler Power Systems in Kohler, Wis. Amy has a master’s of business administration degree in finance from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.

1985

Ginny BrannonVirginia “Ginny” Brannon has been appointed director of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety in Colorado’s Department of Natural Resources. She previously served as the DNR’s assistant director for water and energy. Ginny has a law degree from the University of Denver and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Colorado.

David CrabtreeDavid Crabtree has retired from the California Department of Corrections after 15 years as a clinical social worker to focus on his counseling and psychotherapy practice in Fresno, Calif. He continues to enjoy hiking, backpacking, and sailing.

Ellen K O'BrienEllen K. O’Brien is a partner at Kutak Rock LLP in Denver, a firm that has more than 500 attorneys in 16 offices throughout the country. Ellen represents real estate developers and investors in affordable housing projects, including HOPE VI and other mixed-finance projects. Her practice encompasses structuring and syndicating affordable housing projects with tax-exempt bonds, historic tax credits, state credits, and Low Income Housing Tax Credits.

Darcy HendersonDarcy Henderson was elected 2014 president of the Multnomah Athletic Club. She is a freelance photo stylist and native of Portland, Ore. After graduating from Colorado College, Darcy lived in New York and Chicago before returning to Portland in 1993. She has also worked in commercial banking, advertising, and public relations. She lives in southwest Portland with her husband, Mike Urness, and children Jack, 8, and Laney, 7.

Bill C. Berger has been appointed to the Denver Fisher House Foundation board of directors. The foundation provides a “home away from home” for veterans and military families to be closed to loved ones during hospitalization for illness, disease, or injury.  Bill is providing strategic direction for the organization and will assist in fundraising, in particular for the $3 million capital campaign under way to build a new home for the group and the veterans and families it serves.

1987

Phil Davis left the corporate world last year and is now semi-retired. He spent 20 years racking up more than 2 million frequent-flier miles as a management consultant and partner at Towers Watson, a global human resources consulting firm. When he’s not on his skis, he can be found mountain biking near his home in the Ken Caryl valley west of Denver. He tries not to let his new business, Sales Effectiveness Consulting Group LLC, interfere with his lifestyle.

1988

Brian Grossman took on a major challenge in March — the Cape Epic, an endurance mountain bike race that covers 715 kilometers with 48,720 vertical feet of climbing and temperatures of 100 degrees and higher over eight days in South Africa. His time of 55:10.31 put him at No. 473 in the master’s division. Brian is motivated by generating support for the nonprofit he founded, KIDS in the GAME, which provides underprivileged kids access to sports programs. Mike Travers ’87 produced a video about the initiative (kidsinthegame.org/capeepicchallenge).

1989

J. Victor (Vic) Peterson has joined SmithAdmundsen LLC in its Chicago office. Vic has more than a decade of broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and general corporate law. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Northwestern University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School.

Courtney Kall Parker has been accredited by the National Board of Certified Teachers as an early childhood generalist and has achieved master teacher status from the Colorado Department of Education. She has been teaching kindergarten for 12 years at Gold Camp Elementary School in Colorado Springs.
