After a mid-week hiatus from our field work, we got back at it again today. Our goal was to finish the last couple transects upstream of the Uintah bridge. We did complete our goal by the end of the day, however it did not occur without a hurdle. Near the end of us surveying transect 13, we heard rolls of thunder coming just over the Front Range. Utilizing the extra energy in the air, we quickly finished up and packed our cart full of equipment and hunkered down underneath the bridge. After much deliberation of whether or not we would try and run back before the rain hit, the rain hit. We stayed put. Luckily the rain did not last long, so we got back out there and completed transect 14.
