Because studying Italian at CC means you get to take part in lots of fun fieldtrips 🙂
Our students were thrilled to spend their Saturday afternoon in Denver to attend the Italian Festival! After a brief presentation on the flag-throwing tradition, the performance of a group of real sbandieratori from Firenze caught everyone’s attention.
Some brave “volunteers” (well, after a little push) decided to talk to them and practice their Italian. But of course the conversation could not be long, since we had so many food stands around us and our goal was to suff ourselves with Italian specialties! Pizza, meatballs, gelato and cannoli were amongst the temptations we had to surrender to!
We also had an interesting encounter with a group of American-Venetian gondolieri.
