From India to Mongolia, Alum Pursues Social Enterprise Career

Ben Murphy ’24 is set to spend a year in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, working in the Management and Research Department for telecommunications company MobiCom, after earning a Princeton in Asia (PiA) Fellowship.
The fellowship brings him a step closer to the goal he’s pursued since his first day at CC—a career combining his passion for development work and entrepreneurship. And Murphy credits his “unique” education at CC, describing the Block Plan as “an opportunity to push yourself outside of your comfort zone.”

CC Students Are Expanding the Bone Marrow Registry—One Swab at a Time

The Colorado College Chapter of the National Marrow Donor Program (CC NMDP) helped to add over 120 new donors to the national bone marrow registry this past academic year—and for CC NMDP President Iris Pixler ’27, the work is intensely personal.
Pixler’s father was diagnosed with lymphoma before she was born, and when she was 14, he received a bone marrow transplant from an anonymous donor in the United Kingdom.

Will Myers ’26 placed third at the 2026 USA Cycling Collegiate Road Championships in the Men’s Club Criterium last month, taking home his first collegiate national medal.
“Getting on the podium at nationals felt like the payoff for all the work I’ve put in over these past four years at CC,” says Myers, who majored in History. “It was a little disappointing being so close to winning, but it was great to bring home a medal and get some recognition.”

Celebrate First Friday at the FAC

Enjoy an evening of live music at First Friday at the Fine Arts Center tonight, Friday, Aug. 7, from 5-8 p.m., featuring Colorado Springs guitarist Colin McAllister. An accomplished musician, McAllister has performed across the country at venues and events including the Ojai Music Festival, Monday Evening Concerts, New Music Miami, the CC Summer Music Festival, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. He is also Director of Humanities and Associate Professor in the Department of Visual & Performing Arts at UCCS, where he leads the Sagitta Guitar Ensemble and organizes the Solertia Humanities Speaker Series.
Admission to First Friday at the FAC is free.
