Membership in the Gap Year Research Consortium is intended for higher educational institutions that are supportive of gap year experiences for their admitted students and would like to engage in collaborative research projects with other member institutions to study the effects of taking a gap year, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Institutional membership will usually include several representatives from different parts of the institution, including Admissions, Institutional Research, faculty, and potentially other members of the institution. The annual institutional membership fee of $750 provides members with access to the password-protected GYRC website, where research methodologies, outcomes and other gap year-related information will be stored, attendance at meetings held in conjunction with other annual professional conferences (NACAC, College Board Forum, etc.), and a reduced rate to attend the annual Gap Year Research Symposium.

New members are also requested to complete this initial survey in order to give the Consortium a sense of your current gap year policies and institutional research priorities.
