As of right now Project PPE is producing two separate face shield models.
The first model is the Prusa model which is a more durable shield intended to be worn for longer periods of time. This mask is intended for healthcare workers working extended periods (8-10 hrs). These models are being 3D printed and cost approximately $3.50/mask to produce. It also takes several hours to print out one mask.
The other model is the Verkstan model which is slightly less thick and intended to be worn for shorter periods. This model could be useful for first responders or dentists. These masks are produced by using molds and resin casting. With one mold (our production currently uses approximately 30 molds), one mask takes approximately 15 minutes to make. The cost of each Verkstan face shield is approximately $2.50.
