LACK 2017

Psychoanalysis and Politics NOW

Plenary Speaker: Slavoj Žižek (University of Ljubljana)

The second biannual conference for LACK, an organization devoted to the promotion and development of Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, will be held at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on October 19-21, 2017. This conference hopes to bring together those interested in exploring the philosophical, political, and cultural implications of psychoanalytic theory, especially as it relates to the question of contemporary politics.  Though practitioners are welcome, the focus of the conference is psychoanalytic theory rather than practice, and theoretical papers will be privileged.

Conference Organizers:
Scott Krzych (Colorado College)
Todd McGowan (University of Vermont)

LACK Central Committee:
Jennifer Friedlander (Pomona College)
Henry Krips (Claremont Graduate School)
Todd McGowan (University of Vermont)
Hilary Neroni (University of Vermont)
