Protest Kim Rivera’s Separation from Newborn Son, Dec. 1, 3pm
http://gazette.com/supporters-challenge-kim-riveras-separation-from-newborn-in-fort-carson-protest-sunday/article/1510299
This is in response to Fort Carson General Bill’s denial of conscientious objector Kim Rivera’s clemency (we were only asking for a few weeks off her sentence so she could be with her newborn son during his first few weeks of life). She’s only allowed to see newborn Matthew 2 hours on the weekends! Locally, we will join the protest at the Fort Carson gate about Kim Rivera’s separation from her newborn. We have called for actions to happen around the world at 3 p.m. local time on Sunday (more info at http://freekimberlyrivera.org/2013/11/28/international-day-of-action-in-solidarity-with-kimberly-rivera/).
Please let us know if you plan to join so we can make a carpool plan.

Gaylord Hall, Colorado College, Oct. 28, 7pm
Unfortunately, the US Army veteran Jacob George concert has been cancelled – PTSD takes its toll every time Jacob sings his story, and we just got word that he cannot continue the tour at this time because of the emotional toll PTSD has taken in his recent performances that re-tell his experiences.  However, thanks to Matt Stys with Iraq Vets Against the War, we’ll watch the documentary Four Days in Chicago, which presents award-winning director Haskell Wexler’s account of the May 2012 protests that included vets throwing their medals back to NATO. More information about the documentary can be found at http://www.fourdaysinchicago.com/. Matt will be available for questions about IVAW after the showing.
