The book celebrates mountaineering in Colorado and commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Colorado Mountain Club. “100 Years Up High” is not a history of the Colorado Mountain Club, but rather, a chronicle of the mountains spanning 100 years with the role of the club interwoven. The book’s six chapters, as well as the prologue and epilogue, are informative, covering topics such as Colorado mountaineering, skiing, mountain art, and how Coloradans have conserved the mountains. A long-time member of the mountain club, Hite, who co-authored the book with four others, has served in many volunteer positions.
