6:00 pm – 07:30 pm
Gaylord Hall (main floor of Worner)
Join us for a reading and book signing by Lambda Literary Award winning author and poet Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha from her new book Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice. Care Work is an exploration of the politics and realities of disability justice, a movement that centers the lives and leadership of sick and disabled queer, trans people of color, with knowledge and gifts for all. Care Work outlines what it means to practice “collective access” – access not as a chore but as a collective responsibility and pleasure – in our communities and political movements.
The reading will be followed by a Q&A and book signing. Cash preferred.
**Please help us keep the venue fragrance free by refraining from using any scented products. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
This event is co-sponsored by the Feminist & Gender Studies Program and the Faculty Visiting Speaker Grant.
